What to expect and how you'll make an impact

Nearly a third of the Greek population, over three million people, have faced poverty or social exclusion over the past few years. Many organizations and nonprofits aid with basic needs such as food, water and clothes. However, these organizations always need extra support to help people get back on their feet.

As a Homeless Support volunteer in Greece, you will support local nonprofits offering legal help with documentation, support with recruitment activities and outreach activities to vulnerable people in need. Your day to day tasks will vary but you can expect to help with the following tasks:

  • Food preparation and distribution
  • Outreach projects that approach the homeless population to offer help
  • Support the laundry station with washing and drying
  • Helping to prepare legal documents and file them
  • Support the uninterrupted flow of a non-profit office
